ASPAYM WORKSHOP: WE PUT OURSELVES IN THE SHOES OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
A workshop to experience and learn about the daily life problems of people with disabilities

Wednesday, February 18, 2025
An ASPAYM Association employee named Víctor came to the CRA Obispo Fray Sebastián school. He taught each class about the daily life problems of people with disabilities, adapting to the age of the class groups.
In the workshop he taught in the 6th grade class, he gave them some tests to experience what it's like to be a person with a disability. One child was blindfolded while he had to pour water into a cup and drink it.
Another one had his hands bandaged while he had to tie his shoelaces.
A 6th grade girl was given another disability test; she had to stand on a balance ball with her feet. We asked her how she felt about doing the test. She told us she felt "strange because her legs were shaking and she kept falling".
Víctor also visited the 1st and 2nd grade classes and they told us that one child was blindfolded, another had his hands tied, they had to draw with their left hand, and "they would love to do it again".
